The SWC is proud to announce its 2021 Football All-Conference and Players of the Year Selections.
First Team All-Conference Offense: Dain Walter, New Glarus/Monticello; Cole Hoesly, Gage Boegli, Colton Buttke, Aaron Makos, Brodhead/Juda; Jesse Martin, Devin Digman, Platteville; Rhett Koenig, Prairie du Chien; Bryce Hillers, Tyler Brown, Richland Center; Landen Alt, Zach Gloudeman, Ryan Norton, River Valley.

On November 22nd, the Monticello Lady Ponies hosted Belmont. Down 13-28 at the half, the Lady Ponies pressed on in the second half but weren’t able to overcome the deficit. Monticello lost to Belmont, 31-54.

On November 27th, the New Glarus Glarner Knights played at Evansville to open their season. After holding a 31-22 halftime lead over the Blue Devils, the Knights won the game 61-59.
Dain Walter led the Knights in scoring with 16 points, and he had 1 rebound, while AC Strok scored 14 points and Jack Parman and Carter Siegenthaler each scored 8 points.
New Glarus played at Darlington on November 30th. Up next for the Knights is a home game against Poynette on December 2nd and then they will play at Lena-Winslow on December 4th.

On Tuesday, November 23rd, the Belleville girls basketball team hosted their first home basketball game in 637 days when they took on the Barneveld Golden Eagles. The game saw the first seven minutes to be a feeling out process by both teams and the score stayed close. Coach Pharo stated that it took his team a little time to adjust to the defense that Barneveld was playing and, after a time out, they shifted the game plan to start shooting from the 3-point range and that is exactly what they did.
