Wildcats Defeat Deerfield

On November 30th, the Belleville Wildcats boys basketball team played at Deerfield and won. The final score was Belleville 81, Deerfield 57.
Leading the Wildcats in scoring, with 21 points, was Trevor Syse. Demarcus Conner scored 13 points, and Carson Syse scored 11 points.
On December 2nd, the Wildcats hosted Mineral Point. Belleville lost a heartbreaker of a game, by a single point. The final score was Belleville 85, Mineral Point 86.

Belleville Girls Basketball Improves to 5-0

On Tuesday, November 30th, the Wildcats travelled to Shullsburg to take on the Miners. The first half of the game saw a very tight score with the Wildcats and the Miners going into the locker room tied 18-18 at the half. Coach Pharo stated that his team seemed to be a little off on this night and that was not helped by a game plagued with a total of 48 fouls. But Belleville was able to fight hard to grind out the win, coming away with a victory of 42-37 over the Miners.

New Glarus Girls Clobber Black Hawk

The New Glarus girls basketball team played at Black Hawk on Monday, November 29th. The Lady Knights took a 17-point lead into the locker room at halftime, and although they were outscored by Black Hawk in the second half, New Glarus won the game 44-28.
Coach Kevin Parman commented that a fast start opened up a 22-point run and that it made the difference in the game.

Knights Beat Darlington and Poynette

On November 30th, the New Glarus boys basketball team played at Darlington. New Glarus led by just 1 point at the half, but stepped up on offense in the second half and won the game 62-56.
With 23 points, Dain Walter led New Glarus in scoring, he also had 1 assist and 2 blocks. A.C. Strok scored 19 points and had 1 assist and 2 steals. Jack Parman scored 8 points, had 1 assist, 1 steal and 1 block.
On December 2nd, the Glarner Knights hosted the Poynette Pumas. Leading at the half 33-19, the Knights handily won the game, 74-51.

Rainbow Childcare of Monroe, Inc.

Rainbow Childcare has a long history as a cornerstone of childcare in Monroe, serving local families for more than four decades.
In 1977, a group of Monroe residents organized, incorporated and licensed Monroe Community Child Care. The center is now called Rainbow Childcare of Monroe, Inc., a group childcare center licensed for 148 infants, toddlers and preschool-age children at its brightly-painted location at 2709 6th Street. There’s room for an additional 50 school-age children in its before- and after-school program at Parkside Elementary School.

Adventsfenster in New Glarus

The New Glarus holiday season kicked off on December 1, 2021, with Adventsfenster, a daily, life-sized advent calendar opening.
The first window was Olaf's Frozen Adventure at EXIT Professional Real Estate on 2nd Street. The Christmas trees and decorated windows are festive. A calendar of locations can be viewed at www.swisstown.com or at the downtown info kiosk.

Town of New Glarus Annual Tree Sale

The Town of New Glarus Parks Commission is once more holding its annual Tree Sale to benefit local organizations. Species available this year are American Plum, Common Ninebark, Domestic Apple, Red Oak, Sugar Maple, and White Pine, all at $4.00 each. Order forms will be mailed soon, so Town residents should be watching their mailboxes. The deadline to order is December 27, 2021.

SSM Health Monroe Clinic Medical Group in New Glarus is offering a Flu Clinic on Friday, December 17, 2021. It will take place from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., at the clinic located at 1800 Second Street, New Glarus.

Holiday Stock Up Market in New Glarus

The New Glarus Farmers Market is holding a Holiday Stock Up Market on Sunday, December 12, 2021, in the Community Room at the New Glarus Village Hall, 319 2nd Street (enter from the back parking lot off 4th Avenue).
Vendors will be bringing seasonal produce, meat, eggs, baked goods, jams, fibers, crafts and much more!
