HELEN A. WOODRUFF

Helen Ann (Lamboley) Woodruff passed away on December 12, 2021, at age 92, in Forest Park, Illinois. Born in Belleville, Wisconsin, she is survived by son, Bruce Woodruff (Nancy Luikaart); daughter, Leann Runyanwood (Mark Runyan); brother, Ray Lamboley (Ethel Esser); nephews, Tom, Jim, David, and Brian Lamboley; and nieces, Debbie (Lamboley) Bongard and Amy (Berger) Mangin.
She was predeceased by husband, Edward “Ted” Woodruff; and sister, Mary (Lamboley) Berger.
A memorial gathering and an internment of Helen’s ashes at the Frenchtown Cemetery will be planned for July.

Our beautiful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, Ann Freidig, entered the gates of heaven on Wednesday, December 22, 2021. Ann was born on February 29, 1952, in Monroe, daughter of the late Howard and LaVon (Driefke) Keehn.
Ann's true passion in life was helping and caring for others. We will all miss Ann's presence in this life, but our comfort lies with knowing she is now with her Savior and Lord Jesus Christ.

David Mott, age 54 of Odebolt, IA, passed away on Tuesday, December 28, 2021, at CHI Health Immanuel ICU in Omaha, NE. David Eric Mott was born on October 24, 1967, to parents George (Ed) and Elaine (Heckert) Mott.
He grew up in Wall Lake, IA, where he attended grade school and graduated from Wall Lake High School with the class of 1986. After graduation, David continued his education at WITCC and received his Rental Technology degree.

Monticello Community Club to Hold 23rd Annual Winter Chickaree

The Monticello Community Club will be grilling 500 half chickens this year. Half chickens will be sold at $7.50 each (not a complete dinner…just chicken). The basting recipe remains the same as what’s used at Homecoming.
You must order your chicken in advance. Preorder before January 28th at Gempeler’s Supermarket, Boar’s Nest, Eagle Pass, Rathskellar, Shawnas, M&M Café, Kubly Tire & Service Station, or Main Street Salon. Print your full name, phone number and quantity of half chickens you would like. Sign up early, as last year we sold out before the deadline.

Multiple Fire Departments Fight House Fire on New Year's Day

At 2:02 p.m., on January 1, 2022, the Belleville Fire Department, along with Belleville EMS and the Green County Sheriff's Office, were dispatched to N7512 County Road X, Town of Brooklyn, for a residential structure fire.
Upon arrival, fire units found a two-story single family dwelling with heavy fire visible from three sides of the structure; fire was seen in both the first and second floor.
