Carlson Expects Transparency in Local Government

Dear Editor,
Recently, I’ve had a lot of interaction with local township, school, and county board government. There is one thing that I have come to expect and value very much in local government: transparency.
Transparency is simply having an open, honest conversation between government and the people. Elected officials must actively keep the people informed, seek their advice, and listen to their concerns. An elected official who ignores the people’s input is losing out on very valuable guidance on many issues.

The dangerously low blood supply levels have forced some hospitals to defer patients from major surgery, including organ transplants. Blood and platelet donations are critically needed. Please give: rcblood.org/donate.

Educational Spotlight

Pictured above is an example of a students work on an end table from Tyler Theden's Intro to Tech Ed. Students are in the final stages of their woodworking unit. So far they have covered equipment safety and use, squaring raw lumber, joining methods, sanding, and finishes.
If the referendum in April 2022 is successful, it will provide more opportunities for classes such as this Intro to Tech class and allows the district to expand their industrial education classroom space and tools for students in the STEM areas of study.
