You are not a resident in the subject District 25, nor is the Village of New Glarus in the 25th, and I thus find curious your intense interest in the 25th race for County Board Supervisor. Milwaukee School of Engineering congratulates students named to the Winter Quarter 2022 Dean’s List: Raina Nicholson, Belleville; Lethyrian Cocilovo-Kozzi, Belleville; Elizabeth Mikkelson, Brooklyn; Emma Halverson, Brooklyn.
Undergraduate students who have earned at least 30 credits and have a cumulative GPA of 3.20 or higher (out of 4.0) are on the Dean’s List. Students who have maintained a 3.70 or higher receive “High Honors.”

Green County Public Health Promotes National Poison Prevention Week

In 2020, 149 poisoning cases of Green County residents were handled by the Wisconsin Poison Center. As part of National Poison Prevention Week, Green County Public Health is highlighting the dangers of potentially poisonous medicines and chemicals, and outlining preventative steps people can take to ensure their safety and that of their loved ones.

There will be a spaghetti dinner fundraiser, benefitting Care Net Pregnancy Center of Green County on Monday, April 4, 2022, from 4:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m., at Hope Community Center, 2902 13th Street in Monroe.
Adult tickets are $8.00, 4-12y/o $4.00 and under 4 free. Take outs available. Vegetarian spaghetti sauce available. Tickets available at the door.

DATCP Reminds Farmers to Check Runoff Risk Prior to Spreading Manure

The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP) is reminding farmers and manure applicators to check the runoff risk advisory forecast at http://www.manureadvisorysystem.wi.gov/runoffrisk/index before spreading manure on fields. The tool helps determine the potential for manure runoff from a field depending on weather conditions and soil temperature.

Local Severe Weather Safety and Spotter Classes to be Held

Green County Emergency Management announces that in-person severe weather/tornado spotters classes will held this year on Thursday, March 31, 2022. The first class will be at 1:00 p.m., at the Monroe Fire Dept. #1 at 601 W. 17th Street (by Badger State Ethanol), and the second class will be at 6:30 p.m., at the Juda Fire Department – Community Room, N2350 County Road S, Juda. Jacki Anderson and Cam Miller, Meteorologists with the National Weather Service, will be instructing the classes.

April 4-8 is Wisconsin Severe Weather Awareness Week

Wisconsin’s Tornado and Severe Weather Awareness week is April 4-8, 2022. All villages and cities throughout Green County will be participating in the statewide tornado siren test on Thursday, April 7, with April 8 as the back up date in case of severe weather on Thursday. Tornado sirens will be activated at 1:45 p.m. and 6:45 p.m.

Self-Identification Required for Green County Fair Pigs

Green County fair swine exhibitors will be required to self-identify their pigs using the RFID tag method this year. Exhibitors will be required to tag their own pigs and do photo identification for each fair pig. There will be no cost for the Swine Photo Identification Kits. Exhibitors will also be given two RFID ear tags for each animal at no cost. Swine photo identification kits and ear tags will only be available for pickup at the Extension Green County Extension Office, 2841 6th Street, Monroe.
