Tree Seedlings Still Available

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is still accepting orders for the remaining tree seedlings to be planted this spring.
Planting seedlings from state nurseries is a great way to celebrate Arbor Day (April 29, 2022), which is dedicated to increasing the number of trees across the country to help improve the environment.

Self-Identification Required for Green County Fair Market Lambs

Green County Fair market lambs exhibitors will be required to self-identify their lambs using the RFID tag method this year. Exhibitors will be required to tag their own lambs and do photo identification for each fair market animal. Exhibitors will also be given two RFID ear tags for each animal at no cost. Market lamb photo identification kits and ear tags will only be available for pickup at the Extension Green County Office, 2841 6th Street, Monroe.

Wisconsin Business World Launches Two Statewide Contests for Students

Wisconsin Business World announced on Monday the launch of two distinct statewide contests for students. Both contests are open to students in grades 6-12, and the top three entrants in each contest will be awarded cash prizes.
“Business World’s mission is to engage students on how businesses are a force for good,” said Wisconsin Business World Senior Director Michelle Grajkowski. “Both contests help students to better understand the great employers we have in this state and how they impact local communities.”

Raiders Track Hosts Quad

The Sugar River Raiders hosted the Capitol Conference Quad on Tuesday, April 12th.
<strong>Boys Results</strong>
Patrick Samon won the 100M Dash, while DJ Donnell finished 6th and Cade Thayer finished 12th. Samon and Thayer posted PR times.
In the 200M Dash, DJ Donnell finished 2nd with a PR time, while Riley Weber finished 9th, also with a PR time and Cade Thayer finished 10 with a PR.
In the 400M Dash, Carter Scholey finished 2nd with a PR, while Alex Shrader finished 4th with a SR and Charlie Sarbacker finished 7th with a PR.

Ponies Compete at Monroe Track Invitational

Monticello Track had a great meet at Monroe competing in the Richard Glendenning Invitational on Monday, April 11. The boys team finished 5th in the invitational, while the girls finished 7th.
Here are the highlights: Hannah Clark placed 1st in High Jump, 2nd in 400, and 4th in the 100 and 200. Our boys 4x800 Relay Team consisting of Evan Guenther, Braylon Hoesly, Brayden Ryan, and Ian Schwartzlow, placed 1st. Evan Guenther placed 1st in the 3200 and 2nd in the 400. Wade Noriega place 6th in Discus.

On April 11th, the Monticello/New Glarus varsity softball team hosted Juda/Albany in Monticello. J/A threw a combined no-hitter with two pitchers to win the game, 16-0.

Belleville Softball Defeats Parkview

On April 9th, the Belleville Lady Wildcats varsity softball team opened their season with a DH at Lake Mills. The final score was Lake Mills 16, Belleville 0, for game one and Lake Mills 12, Belleville 0 for game two.
Kailey Prochaska had the lone hit for the team in game one. Prochaska also pitched all 5 innings, striking out 1.
In game two, Claire Patrow and Courtney Ehlert had hits for the Wildcats.
Ava Benash and Kailey Prochaska shared the mound in game two, with Benash striking out 1 and Prochaska 2.
