M/NG Softball Wins Over Black Hawk

On Monday, May 16th, the Monticello/New Glarus softball team hosted Potosi/Cassville. The final score was Potosi/Cassville 6, Monticello/New Glarus 4.
Dalana Trumpy was 2x3 at bat with 2 runs scored and 1 RBI, while Karlee Wilkins was 1x3 with 1 run scored and Katelyn Eyler scored 1 run.
Jaden Zuber pitched, striking out 6.
M/NG also played Black Hawk on Monday, winning 13-4.

Raider Soccer Wins Conference Championship

On May 16th, the Sugar River Raiders girls varsity soccer team faced Columbus and won, 5-0.
First half goals were scored by Libby Maclean assisted by Lily Maynard, Lainey Winkers assisted by Libby Maclean and Haley Thompson assisted by Audry Brueggemann.
In the second half, goals were scored by Jenna Gentilli assisted by Tenley Faber and Anya Brenkman assisted by Jenna Gentilli.
On May 17th, the Raiders played against Lodi, winning 1-0, and clinching the Capitol Conference Championship.

Memorial Day 2022 at Green's Prairie Cemetery

The Green's Prairie Cemetery Association will hold a brief ceremony on Memorial Day, May 30, 2022, at 1:30 p.m., to honor the veterans interred there. The proceedings will include a short version of the life of James Biggs (1798-1870), a veteran of the Black Hawk war, surveyor, soldier, miner and citizen.

Monroe Theatre Guild to Relaunch Summer Learning Opportunity For Youth, MTG's Day Camp

After nearly four years without a summer program, Monroe Theatre Guild is gearing up to relaunch its summer learning opportunity for students ages 10-18 with MTG’s Day Camp. While the cast takes center stage in a performance, theatre is far more than just the people on stage. This week-long day camp will focus on the many facets that make up not just the performance, but the preparations, and everything that happens behind the scenes.

Mrs. Hendrickson Goes to Washington

Corrine Hendrickson, Corrine's Little Explorers Family Child Care Owner and Director from New Glarus, WI, joined eleven other Main Street Alliance (MSA) members from throughout the state in Washington, D.C., on May 17 and 18. Other small business included group center child care, consulting, cosmetics and restaurants. Members met in person with Senator Tammy Baldwin, and their Congressional reps, Pocan (WI-2), Gallagher (WI-8), Tiffany (WI-7), Steil (WI-1) and a staff member from Senator Ron Johnson's office.

Donate Blood on June 6th

Help save lives at the annual FCCLA-sponsored Red Cross Blood Drive on Monday, June 6th, 2022. The blood drive will take place from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., in the New Glarus High School Gymnasium. The sign-in table will be near the High School gym entrance (south entrance). Appointments last approximately 1 hour, including registration and a 15-minute rest period after donation. Area Children Invited to Join New Glarus Kinderchor

Kinderchor is back! Kinderchor rehearsals begin on Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at 6:00 p.m., at the New Glarus Home Campus. We meet outside, near the Multi-Purpose Room and Chapel. Enrollment fee is $15.00 per member. All children are welcome to participate. Sign up at rehearsal.

Memorial Day in New Glarus

New Glarus American Legion Post 141 will be having a Memorial Day Parade on Monday, May 30, 2022, starting at the village hall at 9:00 a.m., with lineup at 8:00 a.m. We would like to invite all area veterans to participate in the parade, either riding on our carrier we will supply or in their vehicles with a signage of their name and service on the vehicle, and anyone else that would like to participate is more than welcome.
