Bats of the Stewart Tunnel

The Wisconsin DNR – Bat Program, along with The Friends of the Badger and Sugar River State Trails and the Belleville Public Library, are presenting a program on the bats of the Stewart Tunnel. The event will be held, Saturday, June 25, 2022, from 10:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m., at the Belleville Community Park Shelter.
Bats are amazing animals that make up 20% of the world’s mammal diversity! Wisconsin is home to eight bat species. Locally, the Badger State Trail’s Stewart Tunnel serves as an important bat hibernaculum (overwintering habitat).

Voting By Absentee Ballot

Any qualified elector who is unable or unwilling to appear at the polling place on Election Day may submit a request to vote an absentee ballot to their municipal clerk. A qualified elector is any U.S. citizen, who will be 18 years of age or older on Election Day, who has resided in the ward or municipality where he or she wishes to vote for at least 28 consecutive days before the election. The elector must also be registered in order to receive an absentee ballot. Proof of identification must be provided before an absentee ballot may be issued.

CATHRYN L. OCHSNER

Cathryn (Kaye) L. Ochsner, of Albany, passed away on Sunday, June 12, 2022 at Albany Oaks. Cathryn was born February 12, 1931, the daughter of Lawrence and Marie (Derendinger) Rosa in Union, Wisconsin.
Cathryn is survived by her son, Gregory (Becky) Ochsner of New Glarus; grandchildren, Jonathan (Debbie) Ochsner of Monroe and Jennifer (Russel) Ochsner of Bristol; brother, Don Rosa of Evansville; and grandchildren, Deven, Brandi, Trinity and Teygen.

Argyle Community Organization 82nd Fish Fry Supper

The 82nd Annual Argyle Community Organization Fish Fry will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2022, from 3:30 p.m.-8:00 p.m., in front of the Fire Station in Argyle on N. Broad Street. People should look for the B I G tent located in front of the Argyle-Adams Firehouse.
The menu for the Fish Fry includes Deep-Fried Fish, French Fries, Coleslaw and all the trimmings.
While you eat, enjoy live music by The Fever River String Band.
We are very proud to offer a dairy promotion area, serving cheese from Lafayette and Green County cheese factories.

<strong>Clarke Announces Spring 2022 Dean’s List</strong>
Lillian Himmelmann, New Glarus, and Jared Martinson, New Glarus, have been named to the Dean’s List at Clarke University for the Spring 2022 semester. The list recognizes full-time Clarke students who have earned a 3.65 grade-point average or above, on a 4.0 scale, with a minimum of 12 graded hours.
