Glarner Jassverein Meets at Tofflers on Sunday Evenings

The newly created Glarner Jassverein is working to grow the popularity of the traditional Swiss card game Jass in New Glarus.
Jass is a trick-taking game, similar to Euchre or Sheepshead, and was once popular in Green County. Now the Glarner Jassverein is seeking new and experienced players of Jass. No experience is required, just an interest in the game.
The group meets upstairs at Tofflers Pub & Grill, 200 5th Avenue in New Glarus, every Sunday at 7:00 p.m. There is no cost, and regular attendance is not required.

Krafty Kids to be Held on Tuesday Afternoons

Krafty Kids will be running every Tuesday through August 9th, from 2:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m., at the Village Park gazebo in New Glarus.
Crafts will be available for the first 15 kids. There is no cost to participate. Intended for school-age children.

Blood and Platelet Donors Needed Now to Help Prevent a Seasonal Blood Shortage

Just as most cars need to be refueled constantly, so does the nation’s blood supply. The American Red Cross has faced a concerning drop in blood and platelet donations this summer. Donors are needed to make an appointment to give in August to help prevent a blood shortage.

A Tour of Russ Hefty's Rain Gardens

Russ Hefty gave a talk and tour of the rain gardens on his property in Belleville on July 27th. His yard contains about 200 species of native plants in the gardens he designed and installed in 2015. Russ is currently the chair of the Wildlife Resources Committee for the Village of Belleville. He formerly was the Conservation Supervisor at the City of Madison Parks. This program was sponsored by the Belleville Public Library.

GREGORY A. LEGLER

Gregory Allan Legler passed away at the age of 72 on July 30, 2022. The son of Rufus and Patricia (Gerber) Legler, he was born on January 19, 1950, in the back seat of a Ford sedan on the way to the hospital.
Greg grew up on the family farm in the Town of Montrose, and was a 1968 graduate of Belleville High School.
Greg is well known in the local farming community and has lived his life helping others and putting their needs before his own. His life was built on hard work and dedication. He found humor in every situation and enjoyed living life as he wanted.

Mike Bare's Experience with Feingold Sets Him Apart

Things are troubling in the State Capitol right now. We need legislators who know what they’re doing, can get things done, and won’t be intimidated. My friend Mike Bare is running for State Assembly, and he will be that kind of legislator.
Mike and I worked together for Russ Feingold for many years. Working for Russ helped shape Mike’s Progressive values, and showed Mike the importance of listening to constituents and working hard on their behalf.

I write this letter to strongly endorse Chad Kemp, who is running in the 80th Assembly seat that is being vacated by Sondy Pope.
For those that don’t know me I am a lifelong resident of this area, having been elected to the Verona City Council, the State Assembly and the State Senate. I also served as chair of the Wisconsin Democratic Party for four years.
