Heat and Hills Pose a Challenge

With a 4-star rating, 18 holes, 6,240 yards, par 71 and overlooking the Wisconsin River, the hilly Prairie du Chien Country Club is a gorgeous golf course. Saturday morning starts as a beautiful, sunny, 70-degree day. Unfortunately, for a group of athletes used to training in chilly conditions, it will became a contest to see who finishes the 3.1 mile course and remains upright. Our New Glarus-Monticello girls line-up for the 11:00 a.m. start. This sectional cross country race, and last week's conference race, have been our focus all season. They appear nervous, but ready to go.

NGM Finishes Season With a BANG!

The 2022 season has been a challenge, to say the least. How nice that the seniors could end on a high note. It took another long road trip to do it, but hey, they did it in style with a 33-14 victory over the Warcats of Southwestern/East Dubuque (SWED)...a first-year co-op with a first-year coach playing out of the Six Rivers Conference. The game was played in Hazel Green on an evening made perfect for football.

Duppler-Smith Post #460 American Legion to Hold Raffle

Duppler-Smith Post #460 American Legion in Belleville has made the decision for the third year in a row not to hold our yearly Feather Party/Bingo in November. COVID poses too much risk to ask people to attend in our building at this time. We would also like to give the local businesses another year to recover economically from the hardship of the Pandemic. The American Legion urges everyone to support local business and charitable organizations in the area. That is why, in good conscience, we cannot ask for donations at this time to support our community wide Feather Party.
