Wildcats Run at Platteville

The Wildcat runners enjoyed perfect weather for practicing and racing this week. Saturday, the High School team traveled to Platteville for the McKichen Invitational and ran on the UW-Platteville course.
The Varsity races were scored as two divisions, small schools and large schools, although all the runners raced together. The JV races were combined scores regardless of school.

Raiders Beat Platteville-Lancaster

The Sugar River Raiders had a lighter schedule this week after playing six games in the previous two weeks.

Wildcats Continue Season Undefeated

The Belleville Wildcats varsity football team played at Mineral Point on September 30th. Leading 35-7 at the half, the Wildcats cruised to a 49-14 win over the Pointers.

New Glarus Car Show

Sunday, October 2nd, was a nearly perfect day for the New Glarus Car Show. Over 90 vehicles, including cars, trucks, motorcycles and even a tractor were on display in downtown New Glarus.

Ending Hunger One Step at a Time

Join us in participating in the Belleville Area CROP Hunger Walk on Sunday, October 16, 2022, at First United Church of Christ at 130 E. Church Street.
Registration begins at 12:30 p.m., and the walk at 1:00 p.m. All community members and friends are welcome. If you would like to register and/or donate online go to www.crophungerwalk.org/bellevillewi.
The Belleville Food Pantry will receive 25% of the walk total, with the remainder being used where it is most needed.

Primrose ^Curbside^" Fall Supper"

Primrose will be serving our Church Supper as a Curbside Drive Thru. We look forward to those that gather to prepare, and, most of all, those that come to enjoy the meal.
Meals will be ready for pick-up beginning at 3:00 p.m., with no reservations, until all are served or gone. We believe we will have plenty and look forward to seeing you. If weather permits we will have outside tables for those who’d like to dine at Primrose.

Public Hearing for Town of New Glarus Comprehensive Recreation Plan

At 6:00 p.m., on Wednesday, October 12, 2022, the Town of New Glarus Board of Supervisors will hold a Public Hearing at the New Glarus Town Hall, 26 5th Avenue, New Glarus. On the agenda is a discussion of updates to the Town’s Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan (CORP), which have been developed in response to a recent community survey, a community workshop, and multiple meetings of the Parks Commission, Plan Commission, Town Board, and Town staff.

Monticello Fall Clean Up to be Held Monday, October 17, 2022

All items for Monticello’s Fall Clean Up must be separated/sorted and curbside by 7:00 a.m., Monday, October 17, 2022.
All debris, excluding brush, must be in an area not larger than four feet wide by ten feet long by four feet high.
Debris accepted are furniture and miscellaneous junk, paint cans (empty or open with paint dried), empty burn barrels, metal and appliances and all small loose articles, which must be placed in an open, disposable container.

Annual Fall Colors Car Cruise

The annual Fall Colors Cruise, in memory of TJ Disch, will take place on Saturday, October 15, 2022. Registration is at the Monticello Fire Station from 9:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m., with the group photo at 10:45 a.m. The cruise departs from the fire station at 11:00 a.m. sharp, making a few stops along the way, and will return at dusk to King’s Bar and Grill, 244 N. Main Street in Monticello, where the raffle drawing and silent auction will take place.
The cost is $15 per person, or $25 per couple. All proceeds benefit the TJ Disch Memorial Scholarship Fund.

Wisconsin School Board Appreciation Week

The Wisconsin Association of School Boards has set October 2-8 as Wisconsin School Board Appreciation Week as a time to build awareness and understanding of the vital function an elected board of education plays in our communities. The Superintendents from Albany, Blackhawk, Brodhead, Juda, Monroe, Monticello, New Glarus, and Parkview are joining together to celebrate Wisconsin School Board Appreciation Week to honor local board members for their commitment to our area school districts and the children and families they serve.
