Belleville Veterans Enjoy Badger Honor Flight

Twelve Veterans from Belleville went on the Badger Honor Flight on Tuesday, October 11, 2022. Their day started early, meeting at the Dane County Airport at 4:30 a.m. From there, they flew to Washington, D.C.
While in the nation's capital, they visited the Arlington National Cemetery and watched the changing of the guard. Then on to the Marine Corps Memorial - Iwo Jima, the Vietnam War Memorial, the Korean War Memorial, and the WWII Memorial, and then they finished the day at the Pentagon 9/11 memorial.

New Glarus Bests Belleville

Belleville hosted New Glarus in volleyball on October 11th. New Glarus won in three, 25-16,25-11, 25-18.
Grace Nommensen led New Glarus in kills with 11, she also had 13 assists and 12 digs. Lindsay Schadewalt had 16 assists and Payton Schneider had 12 digs.
For Belleville, Mikayla Caskey had 1 kill and 9 digs, while Kailey Prochaska had 3 blocks and 4 aces, Addy Edge had 11 assists and 11 digs, and Maddi DeSmet had 9 digs.

Belleville Clobbers Parkview/Albany for Homecoming

The Belleville Wildcats played their Homecoming game on Friday night against Parkview/Albany. With a 37-0 lead at the half, the Wildcats went on to a 58-6 victory over the Vikings.

Sugar River Wins Conference!

The Sugar River Raiders have won their sixth Capitol Conference Championship in a row, after beating Cambridge 3-0 on Tuesday, October 11!
The night was extra special because it was also Senior Night. The Raiders honored the seniors before the game and during halftime for their dedication to the team and their efforts on and off the field. Thank you seniors! Once a Raider, always a Raider!

Swimmers Compete at McFarland

The Monroe-New Glarus swim team competed at a dual against McFarland on October 11th. The varsity team came in second place to McFarland, 79-90, and the JV team also placed second, 17-41.
Varsity Results
In the 200Y Medley Relay, the team of Amelia Geib, Maggie Piper, Piper Faber and Amalia Morrison finished 2nd with a time of 2:07.84, while the team of Kristina Foley, Brinlee Chapman, Danika Doll and Alexis Elgin finished 4th with a time of 2:26.51.

Belleville Cross Country Teams Compete in Mazomanie

The Wildcats had our conference meet on Saturday at Lions Park in Mazomanie, hosted by Wisconsin Heights/Barneveld.
The distance was short, so the times reflect a distance of 2.9 miles. The kids did a great job and should be proud of their races.

New Glarus FFA Annual Fruit Sale

The New Glarus FFA is having their annual fruit sale from now until November 7th. The fruit sale includes oranges, pears, grapefruit, apples and pineapples, along with offering an assortment of meats, cheeses and nuts. These make excellent holiday gifts and it is expected to be delivered sometime around the second week of December.

Boy Scout Troop 106 Holding Annual Holiday Wreath Sale

The Boy Scout Troop 106 Holiday Wreath Sale going on now until November 6th. The sale features Wreaths, Garland, Door swag, Porch Pots, Candy Canes and Mantle Runners. Funds earned help pay for the Scouts’ Summer Camp and other Troop outings throughout the year.

Glarner Jassverein Invites People to Join

The newly created Glarner Jassverein is working to grow the popularity of the traditional Swiss card game Jass in New Glarus.
Jass is a trick-taking game, similar to Euchre or Sheepshead, and was once popular in Green County. Now the Glarner Jassverein is seeking new and experienced players of Jass. No experience is required, just an interest in the game.
The group meets upstairs at Tofflers Pub & Grill, 200 5th Avenue in New Glarus, every Sunday at 7:00 p.m. There is no cost, and regular attendance is not required.
