Sugar River Euchre

On December 1st, after a short break for Thanksgiving and deer season, the Sugar River Euchre League is ready to finish the first half of the season. The standings at this point are: Uff-Da 6-0, Cowboys 5-1, Express 4-2, Hay Shakers 4-2, Pipe Benders 3-3, Pranksters 3-3, Cheese Eaters 1-5, River Rats 2-4, Shufflers 2-4, Trolls 0-6.

Lady Knights Win Over Columbus and Evansville

The New Glarus Lady Knights varsity girls basketball team played at Columbus on November 22nd. Down by 3 at the half, New Glarus stepped it up on offense in the second half to get the win by a single point. The final score was New Glarus 52, Columbus 51.
Leading the Lady Knights with 24 points was Lindsey Schadewalt, who also had 3 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal, while Alex Atwell scored 15 points and had 13 rebounds, 2 assists and 5 blocks and Elle Lancaster scored 5 points and had 3 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal.

Knights Come Up With Win Over Evansville

The New Glarus Glarner Knights varsity boys basketball team hosted Evansville on Saturday, November 26th. The Knights were down by 16 in the first half, but finished the half on a 15-3 run to only be down by 4 at the half, 29-33. New Glarus outscored Evansville 29 to 16 in the second half to come up with the win. The final score was New Glarus 58, Evansville 49.
Leading New Glarus with 16 points was AC Strok, while Jack Leonard scored 13 points and Max Parman scored 10 points.

Ponies Dominate Vikings

The Monticello Ponies varsity basketball team played at Parkview on November 22nd. Leading by 8 points at the half, the Ponies won the game. The final score was Monticello 68, Parkview 56.
Parkview scored the first 5 points of the game, but Monticello scored 16 points unanswered to pull ahead in the first half. The Ponies led by as much as 17 points several times in the second half to win the game. Monticello shot 32 for 44 at the line, while Parkview only managed 9 out of 20 attempts.

Wildcats Win Season Opener

The Belleville Wildcats varsity boys basketball team hosted Barneveld on November 22nd and won, 67-53.
DeMarcus Conner led the Wildcats with 17 points, while Andrew Ace scored 13 points and Kaden DeSmet scored 12 points.
Belleville's next four games are on the road. They travel to Mineral Point on December 1st, Lena-Winslow on December 3rd, Darlington on December 6th and Cuba City on December 12th.

Deadline Approaches to Bid on Swiss Church's Online Silent Auction

Swiss United Church of Christ is hosting The Spirit of the Christmas Season Silent Auction. Members and friends of the church have donated a variety of items that will be featured.
The site is available for viewing, and items will continue to be added in the coming days. The bidding will officially open on Saturday, November 12th, and will conclude on <strong>Sunday, December 4, 2022, at 12 noon.</strong>

New Glarus Adventsfenster Begins This Week

Throughout the month of December, residents and visitors to New Glarus will be able to view Adventsfensters throughout New Glarus. Up until Christmas (December 1-24), all over the village there will be 24 locations who will decorate one or more of their windows in a holiday/winter theme. During the decoration process and until the window is publicly revealed, the design stays hidden. Every evening a window will be revealed at a set time.

The New Glarus Christkindli Market will return to downtown New Glarus December 2nd through 4th, 2022! This outdoor Christmas market will host 30 vendors offering a variety of high quality, locally made and sourced gifts, along with Christmas decorations and foods, all housed in wooden on-street chalets. Shop local and support small businesses, while enjoying holiday lights and music.

A Madison Holiday Tradition, The Nutcracker Celebrates 45 years

Dance Wisconsin, Madison's pre-professional dance company, will present its 45th annual performance of The Nutcracker this holiday season on December 17 and 18, 2022, at 2:00 p.m., in UW-Madison's Union Theater. The shows will include over 100 performers of various ages from southern/central Wisconsin, the Dance Wisconsin orchestra and the vocals of the Monona Grove High School Singers.
