Knights Ride Ponies to Easy Win

Tues. Dec. 13: Rivalry games are usually hallmarked by that “throw-the-book-out-the-window” kind of electricity. In that regard, it’s safe to say this game was wanting, as New Glarus cruised/coasted to an easy 76-30 victory over the visiting Ponies. Such are the vicissitudes of small town athletics where the gleaning process of graduation can all but eviscerate a team.

On December 15th, the Monticello Lady Ponies traveled to Black Hawk. Down by 1 at the half, Coach Mark Gustafson stated that, “There was a lid on the rim as we shot 1 for 20 from the 3-point line. Sugar River Euchre

Due to a long delay in our travels back to Wisconsin, this article is shorter than planned in order to meet the deadline.
With the help of Jeff Goebler and Jerry Judd’s 111 points, the Hayshakers outlasted the Shufflers by 16 points. Shufflers Ed Chancellor and Tom Meyer had this week’s high score of 117 points. The Pranksters, with the 110 points recorded by Larry Losenegger and Rodney Latham, took team Uff-Da down a notch outscoring them by 49 points. Larry and Rodney were handed their only loss of the night by Tom Magnuson and John Baumgartner, it was the last game.

New Glarus Blood Drive Exceeds Goal

Dear New Glarus Community,
Thank you all once again for supporting the Community Blood Drive on that VERY cold and blustery winter day!
Nine Power Red donors with 18 units, as well as 52 whole units, giving us a total of 70 units which was 10 over the goal set for our drive! Six donors were deferred and two were insufficient. (That was the category where I was usually placed so I do not even try to donate anymore!) When it stops, it STOPS and there is nothing you can do about it!
