New Glarus Lions Club Awards Scholarships

The New Glarus Lions Club recently awarded scholarships to four members of the Class of 2022.
Austin Nimtz is the son of Jeff and Julie Nimtz, and is in the Welding and Fabrication Program at Southwest Wisconsin Technical College. Paige Leonard is the daughter of Matt and Ann Leonard, and is enrolled in the Nursing Program at Edgewood College. Karley Michels is the daughter of Laci and Ryan Michels, and is also enrolled in the Nursing Program at UW-La Crosse. Emma Marty is the daughter of Laura and Jance Marty, and is attending the University of Alabama, also studying Nursing.

Come to the Cabaret!

Once again, the Monticello Music Parents will be hosting the cabaret dinner benefitting K-12 music students of Monticello. The event this year will be held on Sunday, March 5, 2023, with the doors opening at 12:00 p.m. Tickets to this presentation are $15.00, and can be purchased at the district office and are available for purchase through the event date.

Fifth Annual PTO Euchre Tournament to be Held

All area Euchre players are invited to the Fifth Annual Monticello PTO Euchre Tournament Fundraiser on Saturday, February 4, 2023. Cards start around 7:00 p.m., in the back banquet room at the Pink Heifer Saloon and Smokehouse, 149 N. Main Street in Monticello.
The cost is $30 per couple, or $15 per individual and funds raised go towards supplies, interactive ideas, projects and field trips for Monticello students.

Little John's Temporary Closure to Affect Sugar River Senior Center Meals

Little John’s community kitchen abruptly announced its temporary closure Monday, citing high food and labor costs, and stating that they will scale back from 16,000-17,000 meals per week to 3,000 along with laying off a large portion of their employees.

Annual Euchre Card Parties

Join the Sugar River Senior Center for their annual Euchre card parties. Card play starts at 1:00 p.m., at SRSC with an early dinner to follow card play. Cost is $6.00 per person.
The card parties will take place on Saturday, February 25, 2023, and Saturday, March 25, 2023. The Sugar River Senior Center is located at 21 S. Vine Street in Belleville.

Knights of Columbus Annual Pancake Breakfast

On Sunday, February 19, 2023, the Knights of Columbus will be holding their annual pancake breakfast at St. Mary of Lourdes Hall, 221 Frederick Street, Belleville, from 7:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m.
Adult tickets are $9.00, ages 5-12 are $5.00, and ages under 5 eat for free.
