Oregon Masonic Lodge Donates FST to Belleville Fire Department

On Monday, January 30, 2023, Jim Goldsmith, a Freemason, and other members of the Oregon Masonic Lodge presented the Belleville Fire Department with a donation of a Fire Suppression Tool (FST).Before presenting the donation, Goldsmith took a few minutes to talk about their organization.

Sledding Party Raised More Than $2,000

By all accounts, the sledding party hosted by New Glarus Cares on Saturday was a success. The local community foundation, who hosted the event, is working to preserve the 2.2-acre green space adjacent to Candy Cane Park. The event attracted many families and community members who came out to enjoy the wonderful winter weather and support the cause.

Monticello Chamber of Commerce Holds Ribbon Cutting for King's 244 Bar & Grill

The Monticello Chamber held a ribbon cutting for King's 244 Bar & Grill on Friday, January 20th. Brent Klitzke is the owner of King's 244 Bar & Grill located at 244 N. Main Street, Monticello. He opened the doors earlier in 2022.
Brent also has a landscaping business, so the bar started out as a winter project for him.

The Remembering Balloons

The book, <i>The Remembering Balloons</i> by Jessie Oliveros, was recently donated to our collection by The Friends of the New Glarus Public Library in memory of Ken Brunner and Daryl Murken. This picture book, published in 2018, was awarded the Schneider Family Book Award by the American Library Association for its excellence in portraying dementia and its effects on families.
