Dane County Talent Show Set for July 11

For the first time, Belleville area youth and teens can enter the Dane County Talent Show, which will send two age division winners to the Wisconsin State Fair Talent Show later this summer.
Entrants are being accepted for the 2015 Dane County Talent Show, which will be held on Saturday afternoon, July 11, at the Goodman Community Center, located at 149 Waubesa Street in Madison.
Children and teens who wish to compete must be between the ages of 2 and 18 at the time of the competition in July. The two age division winners (Youth, 2 to 12, and Teens 13 to 18 years old) will advance to the 2015 Wisconsin State Fair Talent Show on August 15 in West Allis. The two state age division winners there will win upwards of $3,000.00 in cash awards.
The talent selections for the Dane County Talent Show can not be any longer then three minutes, not include weapons, fire, and/or animals. An additional minute will be allowed for set-up. All contest entrants must provide their own costuming and music accompaniment.

The deadline for all applications, which will be accepted on a first come basis, is Tuesday, June 30, 2015.
There are no sponsorship or entry fees to compete in the Dane County Talent Show which is open to all qualified youth in the county, including those who may live in Green County but attend school in the Belleville School District or are part of a 4-H group in Dane County.
Last August, then-fifth-grader Alexander Oglesby of Mount Horeb competed in the Wisconsin State Fair Talent Show youth age division as the Green County entrant since Dane County did not have a contest. Oglesby, a singer and guitarist, won the state youth age championship title against other statewide entrants at the conclusion of the inaugural state talent show event in West Allis. Alex, now 11, is the son of Lisa and Kenneth M. Oglesby of Mount Horeb.
