Fire Damages Local Business

On Sunday, November 21, 2021, the Monticello Fire Department was notified of a fire on Fairview Road, south of the Village of Monticello. Upon arriving at the scene, Monticello Fire Chief Kevin Komprood saw flames and thick black smoke. He requested a MABAS (Mutual Aid Box Alarm System) alert for additional help.
Although there was considerable damage to one building on the property, the business remains open.
A number of Fire Departments, law enforcement, and EMS responded, including: Monticello, New Glarus, Juda, Rural Monroe, South Wayne, Brooklyn, Browntown, Albany, Argyle-Adams, Blanchardville, Orangeville, Green County Sheriff's Dept, Monticello Police Dept., and Green County EMS.
