Flowers are Fleeting - Foliage is Forever

How can I grow a nice Hydrangea? What are the best species for our area and what is the best care for them? What perennials and annuals can be combined together to make beautiful plantings? These questions and others will be answered at the next Green County Master Gardeners Association meeting, being held on Thursday, October 24, 2019, starting at 6:30 p.m., at the Green County Justice Center, Multi-Purpose Rooms, 2841 6th Street, Monroe.
Linda Barcz, from the Bruce Company of Wisconsin, Inc., will be presenting on these topics and more. Included in her presentation will be photos showing effective perennial and annual combinations. She will review Hydrangea species and care for them in our area. She will also touch base on Impatiens, and other flowers for planting. A complete question and answer segment will be held to answer any flowering ideas you have. Linda holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Horticulture from UW-Madison. She is a certified Arborist and a member of the International Society of Aboriculture. She does weekly segments on WISC-TV for plant guidance, also.
This is the last meeting of the season for the Green County Master Gardeners Association this year. Anyone interested in horticulture and gardening is welcome to join the association and you do not have to be a Master Gardener to become a member.
