Hello, my name is Ashley Kay Ann Judd, daughter of Jeff and Melanie Judd. I am a sixteen-year-old sophomore at New Glarus High School. I grew up on a farm about seven miles outside of New Glarus, where I was raised around the dairy industry, cats, dogs and beef cattle. My brother and I have always competed with each other, whether it was with homework or who could do the most chores around the farm, it was always a competition.
I am a student athletic trainer for the New Glarus-Monticello Varsity football team in the fall, a student athletic trainer for the New Glarus Boys Varsity basketball team in the winter, and a member of the New Glarus Varsity Softball team in the spring. I am currently the Student Advisor for the New Glarus FFA chapter, and a member of this years student council. I am a Green County Fair exhibitor of dairy and photography. I am also a Wisconsin State Fair exhibitor of dairy.
I was a member of the York 4-H club for nine years attending meetings, club get togethers, showing dairy cattle and being involved in the community with highway cleanups. This past year I ran for the FFA officer position and won. In the time I have spent in my nine years as a member of the York 4-H club, and my two years of being in FFA, I have developed skills in leadership and organization that I will use throughout my life. Going to all of the field trips, banquets and food stands that our FFA chapter has helped out with has benefited me in becoming a more dedicated member. I plan to continue to take a large role in my FFA chapter and hopefully help the younger generation become more intrigued by agriculture.
As I have gotten older I tend to fill my days with meetings, practices, and trips however, being involved in my community is one of my top priorities, so it is an honor to represent America's Little Switzerland as the 2015-2016 New Glarus Dairy Queen.
