Hands of Change Youth Service Project

A new after school program sponsored by Zwingli United Church of Christ has begun serving Monticello and Green County. Each Monday afternoon, youths grade 6 and above are invited to come help make our community a better place. Hands of Change is a program that focus on the joy of helping others. Each week participants are picked up by volunteers at Monticello School, given a snack and transported to a service site. Each Monday Monticello schools are in session, HOC travels to a different place to serve. New Glarus Assisted Living Center, Green Cares food bank, community gardens, public library, New Glarus Woods and many more sites will benefit from the helping hands program.
The program runs in the after school hours between 3:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m., and is offered to all youth grades 6 and above. Hands of Change is totally based in serving others and does not teach or promote a specific religious practice, church or religious organization. If you would like to be part of this program, please pick up an application at the Monticello High School or Zwingli UCC offices. Applications are also available at Zwingli United Church of Christ Monticello Facebook page. For more information, contact Rev. Lance Smith at Zwingli UCC, (608)938-4369.
