Last weekend the village celebrated the production of Johanna Spyri's classic children's drama, Heidi, and the 2nd Annual Blues, Brews and Food Truck Festival.
The Heidi play was presented in the High School auditorium on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
The Blues, Brews & Food Truck Festival was held in Village Park all afternoon and into the evening.
Heidi offered wonderful family entertainment, and included live goats and kittens are used during the production (often stealing every scene they're in!). All proceeds from Heidi go towards youth scholarships.
On Saturday there was also a Heidi Family Fun and Market, held at the New Glarus Town Hall parking lot at 26 5th Avenue. There were kids activities, including a Heidi story time with the New Glarus Public Library, bubbles, crafts, Scherenschnitte with Linda, Yoga with Kids and the Green County Humane Society brought some pets for visitors to enjoy. There were also many craft vendors, from wood carvers to painters to jewelry and too many more to list, Beeville and a children's book author who did a book reading.
The Second Annual New Glarus Blues, Brews & Food Truck Festival appeared to top attendance from last year. Everyone enjoyed the music, New Glarus beer, and the variety of food available.
