Knights Shut Out Cambridge

The New Glarus baseball team played at Wisconsin Heights on May 15th, losing 5-6. Wisconsin Heights came out with an early 3-1 lead, and the Knights pulled ahead in the top of the 5th, scoring four runs. Heights then scored three more runs, two in the bottom of the sixth, to take the win.
Matthew Jackson was 2x3 at bat, with one run scored, while Noah Zimmerman was 2x3 at bat with 3 RBIs. Cooper Dreyfus, Andrew Nimtz, Connor Siegenthaler and Zach Feller all scored one run each for the Knights.
Jared Carney pitched for 5 innings, striking out five before Noah Zimmerman relieved him. Zimmerman struck out one.
On May 17th, the Knights traveled to Waterloo, winning 10-4 over the home team. New Glarus took an early lead, racking up 8 runs before Waterloo answered with one of their own in the bottom of the 4th. In the bottom of the 5th, Waterloo attempted a comeback, but fell short and the Knights added two more runs in the top of the 6th to claim the victory.
Cooper Dreyfus went 3x3 at bat with two runs scored and 1 RBI. Andrew Nimtz was 2x3 at bat with one run scored and 2 RBIs and Holden Latsch was 1x2 at bat with two runs scored and 1 RBI. Jared Carney, Noah Zimmerman, Zach Feller, Reeve Binger and Matthew Jackson all scored one run each.
Andrew Nimtz pitched for 6 innings, striking out four and Zach Frick pitched for 1 inning.
On May 18th, the Knights traveled to Cambridge and won 7-0. New Glarus had a 2-0 lead by the end of the 4th inning, and put four players over home plate in the 5th. They scored their 7th and final run in the 7th.
Noah Zimmerman was 2x3 at bat, scoring one run with 3 RBIs while Jared Carney was 2x4 at bat with three runs scored and 2 RBIs and Matthew Jackson was 1x2 at bat. Scoring one run each were Zach Feller, Holden Latsch and Trevor Gassman.
Noah Zimmerman pitched all 7 innings, striking out 12 and only giving up 2 hits.
The Knights will host Cambridge for a regional game at 5:00 p.m., on Thursday, May 24th, at Veterans Park in New Glarus. The Knights are seeded #4 headed into the game while Cambridge is seeded #5. The winner will go on to play at #1 Wisconsin Heights on May 29th.
