The New Glarus Glarner Knights hosted Deerfield on February 10th. With a 3-point lead at the half, and a 41-36 lead with 5 minutes to go in the game, New Glarus watched the win slip away as Deerfield went on a 17-0 run to finish the game. The final score was Deerfield 53, New Glarus 41.
Scoring 11 points to lead New Glarus was Nathan Streiff, while Darris Schuett scored 8 points and Mason Martinson put 7 on the board.
The Knights fared better at Highway 69 rivals, the Belleville Wildcats, on February 13th. Leading by 3 at the half, the Knights kept steady pressure on the Wildcats throughout the second half and won the game, 53-40.
Garrett James scored 15 points to lead New Glarus, while Mason Martinson scored 12 points and Darris Schuett scored 9 points.
The Wildcats were led by Trevor Syse, with 17 points, while Gavin Boyum scored 9 points and Sean Hagen scored 6 points.
Still undefeated in the Capitol South at 7-0, the Knights have an overall record of 12-6. They hosted Marshall on February 18th and will play at Waterloo on February 21st before heading back home to face Cuba City on Monday, February 24th.
