Lady Ponies Lose Close Game to Pecatonica

The Monticello Lady Ponies played at Pecatonica on December 20th. Monticello was trailing 30-34 at the half, and could not overcome the Vikings in the second half. The final score was Pecatonica 57, Monticello 50.
“Ellie (Gustafson) did not play as much as she was dealing with an injury and sat out the 2nd half,” noted Coach Mark Gustafson. “Dalana Trumpy played very well for us. Got off to slow starts to both halves that hurt us. We battled back and still had a chance to win the game. Turnovers and missed shots hurt at the end of the game as well.”
Dalana Trumpy led the Ponies with 21 points, sinking three 3-pointers, while Molly Olson scored 10 points and Jaden Zuber scored 8 points.
Monticello will play at Williams Bay on January 7th, host Albany on January 10th and host Barneveld on January 13th.
