Lady Ponies Outlast Williams Bay

On December 21st, the Monticello Lady Ponies hosted Williams Bay. Down by a single point at the halftime break, the Ponies outscored Williams Bay in the second half to win the game. The final score was Monticello 39, Williams Bay 32.
“Ellie (Gustafson) shot 50% for her 2-point shots. She drove the lane well to create opportunities and her teammates did a great job getting her the ball as well,” commented Coach Lori Brokopp. “We were only up by 1 at half. Our girls did a nice job adjusting at halftime and coming out with better defense in the second half, holding Williams Bay to 12 points total in the second half.”
Ellie Gustafson led Monticello with 28 points, which included one 3-pointer and she was 1-3 from the line, while Dalana Trumpy scored 5 points, Jaden Zuber scored 4 points and Katelyn Eyler scored 2 points.
The Ponies will play at Cambria-Friesland on January 5th, host Albany on January 6th, and will then play Highland at Just A Game Fieldhouse in Wisconsin Dells on January 8th.
