Lady Wildcats Lose to Jefferson and Cambridge

On Tuesday, January 3rd, the Belleville Lady Wildcats played at Jefferson. Down by 2 at the half, Belleville couldn't keep up with Jefferson's momentum in the second half and lost the game. The final score was Belleville 49, Jefferson 59.
Leading the Lady Wildcats in scoring with 17 points was Addison Edge, who also had 4 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Toria Devoe scored 14 points with 3 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal and Maddi DeSmet and Mikayla Caskey each scored 6 points, with Caskey having 3 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 block and DeSmet having 8 rebounds, 3 assists and 1 block.
The Lady Wildcats hosted Cambridge on January 5th. Cambridge, who took a 11-point lead into the halftime break, proved too much for Belleville and won the game. The final score was Belleville 43, Cambridge 59.
With 20 points, Addison Edge led the way for the Lady Wildcats. Edge also had 6 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 block. Maddi DeSmet and Toria Devoe scored 7 points apiece, with Devoe pulling down 6 rebounds with 1 assist and 1 steal and DeSmet having 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 3 steals and 2 blocks.
Belleville played at New Glarus on January 10th. They will play at Marshall on January 13th and host Mineral Point on January 17th and Waterloo on January 19th. They are currently 5-7 overall, and in fourth place in the Capitol South with a 1-1 conference record.
