Lady Wildcats Take Regional Championship

On February 22nd, the Belleville Lady Wildcats hosted #7 Pardeeville for a WIAA Regional game. The Lady Wildcats were ahead by 14 at halftime and kept the momentum going in the second half to win the game. The final score was Belleville 84, Pardeeville 58.
Rachael Heittola scored 18 points to lead the Cats, while Ava Foley put 15 points on the board and Jade Halvensleben scored 13 points.
With the win against Pardeeville, Belleville, who was seeded #2 in tournament play, moved on to play #3 Brodhead in a Regional Final Game. After a very close first half, Belleville was ahead 29-25 at halftime. The two teams battled it out in the second half, but the Wildcats emerged victorious, winning the game with a final score of Belleville 65, Brodhead 46.
Rachael Heittola led in scoring with 21 points, while Ava Foley scored 16 points, Jenna Shrader put 12 points on the board and Jade Halvensleben scored 11 points.
On Thursday, February 28th, the team will face #1 Markesan at DeForest for a WIAA Sectional Semi-Final game. Tipoff is at 7:00 p.m. The winner of that game will play at Verona to become Sectional Champion on Saturday, March 2nd.
