Montesian Gardens News

Montesian Gardens held first meeting of 2022. Mike Davis addressed the group regarding the possibility of establishing a rain garden south of the Greenwoods bank area where standing water often collects. No decision was made, and we thank Mike for his presentation. The main concern is lack of volunteers for the existing garden plots and our aging volunteers have their hands full.
We have purchased a memorial plaque from funds from the Harold Babler family denoting donations of trees, benches, etc. It is placed in the gazebo.
The Monticello middle school students and their teachers spread mulch and picked up brush from the creek project on their work day. It was very much appreciated. The mulch was a generous donation from Cindy Salis. The Amstutz-Marty post 256 have donated funds for the pergola flower containers.
Plots are available and volunteers needed. The next meeting is Tuesday, May 17th, at 7:00 p.m., at the gazebo, or if inclement weather, at the historical museum.
