Years lived in village: 4 this time, but I grew up here and went to Monticello High School.

Have you been on the village board or held any other public office before? If so please describe: I was previously on the village board in 2018. Unfortunately, I had to resign due to some health issues I was struggling with. Thankfully, those have resolved and I look forward to giving my best to the community I love.
Why are you running for village board? I can think of no better community than Monticello, and while I am active in many community and county organizations like the Chamber Board and the Lions Club, the Village Board is a great place to be able to use my experience on a greater level. Monticello has many wonderful assets and opportunities for the future and being a small part of that would be a great honor.
What issues do you find most important to the village board? List your top three priorities: I believe the most important issues are the ones that involve planning for the future. In our daily lives and in organizations, most of us are just trying to survive and deal with the daily issues that come. I think in order for Monticello to progress into the future, activities like visioning, planning and implementation needs to happen now. The issues that need some focus are housing, business development, growth and retention, and balancing our population of maturing residents and their children and families who would like to return to Monticello to raise their children.
If you could reverse one village action, what would that be? Honestly, none. There are enough backseat drivers in the world, I don't need to be one. My only requirement is that decisions, even ones I personally disagree with, are made with thoughtful consideration to all consequences and that different opinions are heard. I have seen this happen several times in the last few years from village leadership. The approachability and communication that has come from the top has been very refreshing. As a trustee I will listen and ask questions, be a good advocate for the citizens and make sure the proper procedures are followed.
Any additional comments? I love this community and when choosing where to move, there was no question that Monticello would be the place. Thank you for your consideration and I hope I have a chance to serve you as a trustee on the village board.
