The 6th grade class, along with chaperones and staff, made their 51st annual trip to Wyalusing during the second week of May. Before getting to Wyalusing State Park, the group stopped at Stonefield Village in Cassville to tour the home and farmstead of Wisconsin’s first governor, Nelson Dewey, enjoy country school lessons first hand, watch a blacksmith at work, and enjoy a delicious ice cream cone! The funds for this portion of our trip were made possible by a grant received from the Excellence in Education Fund.
While at Wyalusing State Park, we enjoyed a variety of experiences, including a spectacular day of canoeing! We appreciate the generous donation from the New Glarus Brewery, which allowed many of us the chance to canoe for the first time! Following our journey to Wyalusing State Park, we stopped at Bethel Horizons to learn about Wisconsin’s wonderful plants and animals. We are grateful to the New Glarus Community Fund for helping us finance this portion of our journey.
Thank you to all of these fine community groups for continuing to support such a wonderful educational trip!
