Two New Glarus High School seniors have qualified as finalists in the 2021 National Merit Scholarship Program. Those two students are Ben Copeland and Merrick Fong.
Students are initially selected based off of their Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test, which serves as the initial screen of program entrants. By making it to the finalist round, both students are part of 15,000 students vying for 7,500 National Merit Scholarships to be offered this spring. The final media announcements of National Merit Scholar designees will be made in April, May, June, and July.
