Have you been on the village board or held any other public office before? If so please describe: No
Why are you running for village board? I believe you truly cannot make a difference unless you try. I am running for a seat as a Trustee on the Village Board because I see an opportunity to contribute and help give back to my community.
What issues do you find most important to the village board? List your top three priorities: The top issue on the Village Board's plate right now continues to be the development of a new library. Along with this comes the priority of relocating Glarner Park (should the library's fundraising goal be met by the end of the year). In addition to these major issues, I see opportunity in expanding our economic growth through efforts to attract business and entertainment offerings that can be enjoyed by both residents and tourists.
If you could reverse one village action, what would that be? I recently discovered that our village regulates fencing on the side, rear, and front of our properties. Specifically, I have learned that property owners are not permitted to have fencing on the front side of a property that is above four feet in height or within two feet from any public right of way. I do not understand these regulations for the front of a homeowner's property, and I would challenge them as I see safety value for families as well as pet owners.
Any additional comments? Over the past few months I have immersed myself in a variety of Village Board meetings, as well as committee meetings. I embrace our Village's history, and look forward to the opportunity to serve all members of the community through this Trustee position.
