Ponies Fall to Vikings

The Monticello Ponies boys basketball team played at Pecatonica on January 6th. Down by a single point at the half, the Ponies battled throughout the second half but ended up losing to the Vikings. The final score was Pecatonica 59, Monticello 55.
The game was tied five times in the first half, but the Vikings took the lead for good with a little over a minute left in the half. The Ponies got within 2 points with three seconds left in regulation, but fouled and the Vikings hit their shots to win the game.
With 22 points and 13 rebounds, Ryer Indergand led the Ponies, while Nick Roe scored 13 points and Ian Schwartzlow scored 11 points. Jackson Eyler had 8 rebounds and Alex Roe had 5.
The Ponies hosted Cambridge on January 10th. They will play at Abundant Life on January 12th and at Black Hawk on January 16th.
