Home ›Ponies Set More New Records at Six Rivers Championship Meet
The Monticello Ponies track team competed at the Six Rivers Conference Championship Meet held at UW-Platteville on Monday, May 13th. The men’s team finished 5th at the meet while the women’s team also finished in 5th place.
<strong>Men’s Results</strong>
In the 100M dash, Peter Gustafson placed 7th.
In the 200M dash, Cade Femrite placed 10th and Wade Noriega placed 13th.
In the 400M dash, Cade Femrite placed 6th and Sam Allard placed 12th.
In the 800M run, Tristin Flanagan placed 6th while Lucas Heiser placed 11th and Sam Allard placed 13th.
Rudy Wicker won the 1600M run while Braylon Hoesly placed 9th and Logan Blum placed 10th.
Evan Guenther won the 3200M run, beating his PR time by 20.09 seconds, while Logan Blum placed 9th and Simon Blohowiak placed 10th.
The 4x400 relay team of Rudy Wicker, Tristin Flanagan, Peter Gustafson and Cade Femrite placed 4th.
The team of Rudy Wicker, Braylon Hoesly, Simon Blohowiak and Evan Guenther won the 4x800 relay event, setting a new PR and shaving 2.32 seconds of their previous time.
In the high jump, Peter Gustafson placed 3rd. Gustafson placed 6th in the long jump.
In the triple jump, Logan Blum placed 10th.
<strong>Women’s Results</strong>
Alyssen Noriega won the 100M dash, while Jayden Hummel placed 11th and Natalie Roe placed 13th.
Alyssen Noriega also won the 200M dash, setting a new PR for herself while also breaking the record she set in 2017, while Hannah Zanow placing 2nd and Jayden Hummel placing 12th.
In the 300M hurdles, Maggie Bak placed 3rd.
The 4x100 relay team of Hannah Zanow, Ali Risley, Jayden Hummel and Natalie Roe placed 3rd.
The team of Maggie Bak, Hannah Zanow, Ali Risley and Alyssen Noriega won the 4x200 relay event, breaking the conference meet record that had stood since 2012.
In the long jump, Maggie Bak placed 2nd and Natalie Roe placed 10th – both personal records.
In the shot put event, Ali Risley placed 7th.
In discus, Ali Risley placed 6th while Natalie Roe placed 12th.
The Ponies competed in the 2019 Regional Track and Field meet on May 20th. Results from that meet will be published in next week’s paper.
Update: The Ponies will compete in Sectionals Thursday in Bangor. Running Events START at 4:15. The 4x800 is the second event and the 200 trials will follow.
