Ponies Victorious Over Eagles

On January 4th, the Monticello Ponies played at the Belleville Wildcats. The Wildcats had a commanding 53-21 lead at the half and won the game, 87-44.
Two minutes into the game the Ponies did hold a lead, however the Wildcats went on a 20-0 run on their way to a 32-point halftime lead. The Wildcats maintained their lead in the second half and won the game.
Leading the Ponies with 12 points was Jackson Eyler, while Brayden Ryan and Kade Ace each scored 8 points. Ace pulled down 6 rebounds, while Ryer Indergand had 4.
For the Wildcats, Carson Syse scored 19 points and had 6 rebounds, Trevor Syse scored 19 points and had 13 rebounds, and Andrew Ace scored 10 points and had 5 rebounds.
On Friday, January 7th, the Ponies played at Barneveld. Monticello had a 4-point lead at the half and went on to win the game, 59-46.
Early on, there were five ties and three lead changes before Monticello took the lead for good with less than two minutes left in the first half on a basket by Brayden Ryan. The Ponies extended their lead in the second half and secured the win with five free throws in the last minute to win it.
The Ponies were led in scoring by Ryer Indergand who had 14 points, while Evan Guenther scored 11 points, Brayden Ryan scored 11 points and pulled down 7 rebounds, Jackson Eyler put 10 points on the board and led with 8 rebounds and Kade Ace had 6 rebounds.
Monticello will host Juda on January 13th, Dodgeville on January 18th and will then play at Albany on January 21st. The Ponies are 5-0 in conference play (and 6-6 overall) and are sitting in first place in the Six Rivers East currently.
