Ponies Win Against River Ridge

The Monticello/Albany Ponies baseball team were only able to play one game of a scheduled double header against Belmont on April 22nd, due to lightning. The Ponies lost the first game, 2-14.
On April 23rd, they lost to what Coach Scott Smice called “a good Belleville team,” in a back and forth contest. The final score was Belleville 8, Monticello 4.
On Friday, April 26th, the Ponies traveled to play a double header at River Ridge. The Ponies lost the first game, 8-18.
“Bounced back to win the 2nd game 10-3, behind the good pitching of Kollin Klitzke,” said Coach Smice. “Team hitting and defense played a role in the victory as well.”
The team hosts a double header against Shullsburg/Benton on May 3rd and will play at Pecatonica on May 6th and at Argyle on May 7th.
