Home ›Raiders Stay on Top of Conference With Victory Over Lake Mills
Last Tuesday, the Sugar River Raiders hosted the undefeated Lake Mills L-Cats (10-0-1) in a show down that kept fans in the packed stands on the edge of their seat cushions. Lake Mills scored first but the Raiders responded. With only one second remaining in the first half, senior forward Ryan Downing sent the team into halftime tying the game 1-1.
In the second half, the sophomore connection of Jack Leonard assisting Aiden Hatelberg tallied the go-ahead goal at 69:38. The Raiders backline and keeper were able to fend off several late game L-Cat shots giving the Raiders the 2-1 victory.
The battle of the Capitol titans continues September 28th with our Sugar River Raiders (8-1-1) playing Wisconsin Dells (7-0-0), who are tied for the conference lead, on the Dells' home turf.
