Six Sugar River Youth Wrestlers To Wrestle at State Tournament

On Saturday, March 17, sixteen Sugar River youth wrestlers took to the mats in three different qualifying locations across the state.  Six earned their way to the State meet this Friday and Saturday, March 23 and 24, at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison.  
Here are the names and results of each of the qualifiers: At River Valley, Madox Mau received 1st, being the only one at his weight of 51 lbs for 2009-10 birth year. Blake Endres took 1st place going 3-0-0 at 63 lbs for 2007-08 birth year.  Trei Udlehoven wrestled to 1st place, also going 3-0, pinning two of his opponents at 75 lbs for 2007-08.  At Stoughton, Zechariah Bair took 2nd place at 57 lbs 2007-08 year, going 3-1-0 for the day.  Garrett Pauli took Champion, beating his only opponent in overtime at 150 lbs for 2007-08 birth year. At Westby, Eli Leonard, 84 lbs 2007-08 birth year, took Champion going 3-0-1 pinning his opponent in the finals.  
Way to go boys!!  
We also had two boys receiving 3rd place as alternates to qualifying for state meet.  They are Aiden Hatleberg at 85 lbs, 2005-06 year, going 3-2-2, and Alex Zielinski at 100 lbs, 2005-06, going 3-2-2.  So close for both of them!  
Come cheer the boys on at Madison. Zech, Blake, Trei, Eli, and Garrett all wrestle Friday the 23rd, starting at 11:00 a.m., until completed. Madox wrestles Saturday the 24th, starting at 11:00 a.m. also.  Good luck to all of them and their families!
