<strong>UW-Madison College of Letters and Science Awards First-Year Student Scholarships</strong>
The College of Letters and Science at the University of Wisconsin-Madison awarded scholarships and prizes to 63 incoming first-year students in May.
The awards, which will apply to the 2015-16 academic year, were granted on the basis of high school achievements, including academic excellence, extracurricular participation, community service, financial need and other factors. First-year L&S scholarships are highly competitive, and only four to five percent of the applicant pool typically receives an award.
<strong>Mackenzie Zanow</strong>, Monticello, received the Francis E. and Catherine Lamboley Scholarship, need-based, one-time award for an incoming freshman, with preference given to students from Green County, Wisconsin.
<strong>UW-Stevens Point Undergraduates Honored for Scholastic Achievement</strong>
The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point honored more than 2,600 undergraduate students for attaining high grade point averages during the spring semester of the 2014-2015 academic year.
Full-time undergraduates who earned grade points of 3.90 to 4.0 (4.0 equals straight A) are given the highest honors designation. High honor citations go to those with grade point averages from 3.75 to 3.89 and honor recognition is accorded to those with grade point averages from 3.50 to 3.74.
Personalized certificates of scholastic achievement are being sent to those who earned highest honors distinction.

Blum</strong>, Honors, Monticello; <strong>Will Fenner</strong>, Honors, Monticello; <strong>Logan R. Zimmerman</strong>, Honors, New Glarus.
<strong>ISU Students Named to Spring Semester Dean’s List</strong>
More than 7,560 Iowa State University undergraduates have been recognized for outstanding academic achievement by being named to the 2015 spring semester Dean’s List. Students named to the Dean’s List must have earned a grade point average of at least 3.50 on a 4.00 scale, while carrying a minimum of 12 credit hours of graded course work.
Students listed who qualified for the Dean’s List are from our area: <strong>Colton S. Purdy</strong>, Pre-Architecture, Albany; <strong>Darien R. Woods,</strong> Kinesiology and Health, Belleville.
<strong>Jenson Receives Wings Scholarship</strong>
The Southwest Tech Foundation announces that <strong>Melissa Jenson</strong>, Blanchardville, is the proud recipient of the Wings Scholarship at Southwest Tech.
Priority for this anonymous donation scholarship is given to students in the following order: Dodgeville resident, Iowa County resident, general scholarship for any student at Southwest Tech. A minimum of a 2.0 GPA is required for this scholarship.
“My dreams of becoming a nurse and joining the medical field have started to become a reality. With the help from the friendly staff and faculty at Southwest Tech, I am moving closer to joining the workforce in a career I love and I will be able to give my children some of the opportunities I did not have as a child,” Jenson stated.
<strong>UW-Whitewater Announces Dean’s List</strong>
The following students were named to the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Dean’s List for the 2015 spring semester: <strong>Emily Roska</strong>, New Glarus; <strong>Kelli Kuschman</strong>, New Glarus; <strong>Ellzabethe Croy</strong>, New Glarus; <strong>Tanya Smith</strong>, Monticello; <strong>Courtney Roe</strong>, Belleville; <strong>Emma Gorski</strong>, Belleville; <strong>Savanna Eisch</strong>, Belleville; <strong>Haley Baltes</strong>, Belleville; <strong>Monica Francois</strong>, Belleville; <strong>Cody Carlson</strong>, Belleville; <strong>Matthew Viney</strong>, Belleville; <strong>Ariel Fried</strong>, Belleville; <strong>Kate Kelley</strong>, Belleville.
These students have demonstrated their academic abilities by receiving a grade point average of 3.4 or above in a single semester.
<strong>Belleville’s Fahey Earns Advanced Degree from Edgewood College</strong>
<strong>Mitchel Fahey</strong>, Belleville, graduated from Edgewood College May 17, 2015. Fahey earned a Master of Business Administration.
<strong>Local Graduates of Edgewood College Announced</strong>
Edgewood College Commencement ceremonies were held May 17, 2015, in Madison.
<strong>Margaret Francois</strong>, Belleville, earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies. <strong>Bre Reifert</strong>, Belleville, earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting.
