Sugar River Grapplers Lose to Beloit Turner

On December 19th, the Raiders participated in the Richland Center Invitational.
Max Gerner took 7th Place at 120 lbs and scored 8 points. John Chenoweth took 5th Place at 126 lbs and scored 21 points. Tyler Varney took 8th Place at 145 lbs and scored 5 points. Trent Siegenthaler took 6th Place at 195 lbs and scored 16 points. Daniel Enloe took 7th Place at 220 lbs and scored 5 points. Jonah Thompson took 6th Place at 285 lbs and scored 16 points.
The Sugar River Raiders wrestlers headed to Beloit Turner on December 22nd. Sugar River lost the match, with 20 points to Beloit Turner’s 56.
The Raiders’ Justin Knoebl, wrestling at 113 lbs, lost to Jack Sagaitis.
Max Gerner, wrestling at 120 lbs, won over Beloit Turner’s Gavin Campbell.
John Chenoweth, wrestling in the 126 lb weight class for Sugar River, won over Ste’fan Golden.
Beloit Turner’s Anthony Bivens won over Jack Deitrich in the 138 lb weight class.
In the 145 lb weight class, Sugar River’s Tyler Varney fell to Zack Brown.
Hayden Latsch, wrestling at 152 lbs for Sugar River, lost to Giovanni Haney.
Beloit Turner’s T.J. Kuhnle won over Kyle Sparr in the 160 lb weight class.
Sugar River’s Tanner Jelle, wrestling at 182 lbs, lost to Shane Swing.
Wrestling at 195 lbs for Sugar River was Trent Siegenthaler, who won over Cody Krueger.
Daniel Enloe, wrestling for the Raiders at 220 lbs, won his match over Greg Kuhnle.
Tyler Burt of Beloit Turner won over Jonah Thompson at 285 lbs.
The team headed north for the 2015 Lourdes Academy OTW Classic on December 29th and 30th, and will face Waterloo on January 7, 2016.
