Sugar River Track Competes in Dual at Marshall

The Sugar River track team competed at a dual in Marshall on Tuesday, April 24th.
“The Capitol South is loaded with talent and coming into today’s meet, we needed to make sure that we were focused on Wisconsin Heights and Marshall. Those were the two teams we were scoring against.  We are finding success individually which leads to the team success and tonight was all about the team. Our athletes did well and there were some seasonal records and personal records achieved today. Our kids are getting stronger and will more than likely continue to set new PRs as we progress through the season and earning a spot on the Top 5. Kiara Donnell broke the school record in the 100m dash that she had set last season, and Jacob Shrader PRed at 6’2” in the high jump, which is a 6” improvement,” said Coach Willy Johnson. “The confidence in our athletes continues to grow and that is a testament to their hard work they have been putting into the season.  Our work isn’t done yet as we still have a ways to go to where the team wants to be in terms of times, distances and heights, but we’re getting there.”
