Team Record Broken at Swim Meet

On September 14th, the Monroe/New Glarus girls varsity swim team hosted Edgewood at the Monroe YMCA. The varsity team lost to Edgewood, 49-121, while the JV team also lost, 22-105.

In the 200SC Meter Medley Relay, the team of Riley Hoesly, Karley Michels, Mazie Paradis and Morgan Erstad finished 2nd with a time of 2:12.20. Placing 4th, with a time of 2:22.41, was the team of Keeley Mulligan, Peyton Yaun, Samantha Schiro and Danika Doll.
In the 200SC Meter Freestyle, Riley Hoesly finished 3rd with a time of 2:25.50, while Keeley Mulligan finished 5th with a time of 2:36.55.
Mazie Paradis won the 200SC Meter IM with a time of 2:27.40 - breaking the team record in the event. The previous record holder was Rachel Root, whose name you may recognize as one of the current coaches of the swim team. Finishing 5th was Morgan Erstad with a time of 2:41.32.
In the 50SC Meter Freestyle, Delaney Lynch finished 4th with a time of 30.36, Samantha Schiro finished 5th with a time of 32.25 and Danika Doll finished 6th with a time of 33.53.
Mazie Paradis won the 100SC Meter Butterfly with a time of 1:07.07, while Delaney Lynch finished 5th with a time of 1:16.16 and Peyton Yaun finished 6th with a time of 1:22.51.
In the 100SC Meter Freestyle, Samantha Schiro finished 4th with a time of 1:12.88, while Karley Michels finished 5th with a time of 1:15.55 and Danika Doll placed 6th with a time of 1:15.74.
In the 400SC Meter Freestyle, Riley Hoesly finished 3rd with a time of 5:09.36, while Keeley Mulligan finished 5th with a time of 5:26.38.
In the 200SC Meter Freestyle Relay, the team of Delaney Lynch, Danika Doll, Karley Michels and Keeley Mulligan finished 3rd with a time of 2:11.28, while the team of Elsa Schaefer, Kristina Foley, Emma Tran and Taylor Rufer finished 4th with a time of 2:22.28.
In the 100SC Meter Backstroke, Morgan Erstad placed 3rd with a time of 1:12.50 and Taylor Rufer placed 5th with a time of 1:25.35.
In the 100SC Meter Breaststroke, Karley Michels finished 2nd with a time of 1:24.34, while Elsa Schaefer finished 4th with a time of 1:27.99 and Peyton Yaun finished 5th with a time of 1:28.18.
Finishing 2nd in the 400 SC Meter Freestyle Relay was the team of Riley Hoesly, Morgan Erstad, Delaney Lynch and Mazie Paradis, with a time of 4:20.06. The team of Kristina Foley, Samantha Schiro, Elsa Schaefer and Taylor Rufer finished in 4th place with a time of 5:08.00.
On September 21st, the Cheesemakers competed at Lodi. They will swim in an invitational at Verona on September 25th and host Portage at the Monroe YMCA on September 28th.
