Thank You Belleville Library Lovers

The Capital Campaign Committee for Belleville’s new Library and Community Center is pleased to announce that the campaign has reached $630,000 of the Village’s challenge to raise $1 million toward the $3 million project.
“Belleville Library Lovers of all means have made cash donations and multi-year pledges to support the project,” said Library Director Bronna Lehmann. “We greatly appreciate the contributions from over 320 people and businesses so far.”
Local businesses have provided significant support with donations from Union Bank & Trust, Burreson’s Market, Boardman & Clark, Anderson Custom Processing, Peterson Technology Group, Monona Bank, Schwoegler’s Sugar River Lanes, J&M Bar, Belleville Auto Body, JBM Patrol & Protection Corp, and Flesch Chiropractic.
Efforts to fund the Children’s Area by local agribusinesses have received support from Argall Dairy Systems, Sunburst Dairy, Bank of New Glarus and Sugar River Branches, Observatory Hill Farm, and Grande Cheese Company.
Additionally, the library received a major contribution this fall from the estate of Betty Quirk, a long-time library patron.
In 2017 the Village purchased the former Landmark mill site on S. Park Street and the adjoining residential lot for the new library. Options to move the house currently on the lot are being explored. Plans are for a 13,700 square foot library with a community room and additional meeting space available for community use. Detailed design work will begin later this spring.
Want to help us reach our goal so the construction phase can begin? Stop by the Library at 130 S. Vine Street to speak with the Library Director or go to www.bellevillelibrary-wi.org/new-library for more information on how to make a Belleville Library Lover gift to the building fund. Volunteers to help with fundraisers are also welcomed.
Building a library is a big project for a small town. Belleville has been a community of library users for 140 years. If we come together, we can build an asset for our community that will benefit our families and neighbors for many years to come.
