The Belleville Turkey Drop organizers would like to thank the Belleville community for their incredible generosity during their 10th annual Turkey Drop that took place on Friday, November 12th. With other local events going on it was unknown how the turnout would be and it once again ended up being an amazing evening with so many giving community members!!
Donations to the food pantry included over $2,100.00 in cash donations, 56 frozen turkeys and a whopping 643 pounds of food!!
Organizers would like to thank Belleville Middle School and High School students; Doug Brown and Doug and Marian Viney for their turkey creation at Library Park; Julie Sutter Blair for all the wonderful signs and window art and all the big hearted people who donated.
Special thank you once again goes out to the Francois family and the Woods of Baladou for graciously allowing the Turkey Drop to take place in their parking lot; Darin Burreson/Burreson's grocery store for storing the turkeys and collecting items; staff at the Belleville Middle School and High School for collecting donations; and Karen Stremikis and those that coordinate and help with the Thanksgiving meal distribution at the Belleville Food Pantry. It's such a humbling feeling to live in such a wonderful town that goes above and beyond to help others, THANK YOU and see you next year!
