Join us on Saturday, October 8th, for a very special author event, just in time for spooky season! Meet author Betty Plombon and learn more about her book The Horror of 1888 and the historical research behind it.
This book tells the true story of the crime, escape, and eventual capture of Betty’s ancestor John Kuehni. On a peaceful day in 1888, two brothers on a fishing trip made a gruesome discovery that shocked the community and led to an international manhunt…and it all started at the New Glarus train depot! The Horror of 1888 will introduce you to one of the most shocking murders that Wisconsin had ever seen.
This event will be held in the log church on Swiss Historical and Museum grounds, 612 7th Avenue in New Glarus. Admission is free!
Music will be provided by Jeff Anderson. (And we just might have one or two other tricks and treats in store for you!)
Many thanks to New Rose and Chalet Cheese for co-sponsoring this event.
