The Belleville Wildcats varsity football team hosted Cuba City on September 16th. Up 12-0 at the half, the Wildcats went on to win the game 32-7.
Belleville scored twice in the first quarter. The first TD was scored by DeMarcus Conner on a pass from Aidan Keyes. Kaden DeSmet's extra point attempt was unsuccessful. Keyes hit DeSmet for the second touchdown, but their 2-point conversion attempt was stopped.
In the third quarter, Aidan Keyes ran it in for the score and the 2-point conversion attempt was unsuccessful. Shortly after the fourth quarter began, Keyes hit DeSmet for a TD and the extra point by DeSmet was good. Logan Derke scored a touchdown about halfway through the quarter and DeSmet's extra point was good. Late in the game, Cuba City scored their only touchdown.
Aidan Keyes was 23 for 31 at QB, with 337 yards, 3 touchdowns and 1 interception.
Logan Derke led the Wildcats in rushing with 105 yards, while Aidan Keyes had 28 and Landry Yarbough had 19.
Kaden DeSmet led Belleville with 179 receiving yards, while DeMarcus Conner had 84, Andrew Ace had 46 and Logan Derke had 24.
Defensively, Landry Yarbough had 5 tackles, while Logan Derke had 4, Brennen Keyes had 3, and Brady Durni and Nate Meier had 2 each.
The Wildcats are currently 5-0. They play at Fennimore on September 23rd.
