The Belleville Wildcats football team hosted the Lancaster Flying Arrows on Friday, September 17th. The Wildcats won the game, 28-16.
In the first quarter, Trevor Syse threw a TD pass to Anthony Nolden to put the Wildcats on the scoreboard and his extra point kick was good. Near the end of the quarter, Nolden ran it into the endzone from 10 yards out to score again. Syse's extra point was good. The second quarter was quiet with no scoring and Belleville was leading at the half, 14-0.
The Wildcats scored twice in the third quarter. The first was on a pass from Carson Syse to Nolden for a 48-yard gain, and Trevor Syse kicked the extra point. Jake Fahey ran it in from 2 yards out and Trevor Syse kicked the extra point to bring Belleville up 28-0 at the end of the third. Lancaster scored twice in the fourth with two successful two-point conversions.
Belleville's Trevor Syse passed for 94 yards, while brother Carson Syse passed for 48 yards.
Dylan Posthuma led the team in rushing yards with 51, while Patrick Samon had 36 yards, Anthony Nolden had 10 yards and Jake Fahey had 2 yards.
Anthony Nolden led the Wildcats in receiving yards with 79, while Demarcus Conner had 25, Carson Syse had 24 and Andrew Ace had 14.
Kaden DeSmet and Anthony Nolden both intercepted the ball once. Davis Richter had 4 tackles, while Jake Fahey, Carson Syse and Colin Derke each had 3.
The Wildcats are scheduled to face Parkview/Albany in Parkview on Friday, September 24th. Kickoff is at 7:00 p.m.
