Wildcats Victorious Over Vikings on the Road

On Friday night, the Belleville Wildcats traveled to Parkview High School to take on the Parkview/Albany Vikings.
On the game’s opening drive, Wildcats quarterback JJ Wenger connected with Jaxon Pier for a 41-yard touchdown. A second quarter 9-yard TD toss to Sean Hagen and 2-yard TD dive by Ogden York made the score 21-0 Wildcats, heading into halftime.
In the 3rd quarter, Parkview/Albany responded with a score of their own and the Wildcats added a 22-yard field goal by Matteo Lattore, which made the score 24-6 heading into the final frame.
A few snaps into the 4th the Wildcats scored again, this time courtesy of a 38-yard TD run by Anthony Nolden. A safety on the next Viking drive made the score 32-6. In the final minute of the game, Parkview/Albany punched in another score and the game ended in a 32-14 win for the Wildcats.
Wenger finished the game 12-16, passing for 130 yards and two touchdowns. He also added 81 on the ground to lead the team. Sawyer Fahey had 60 yards on 15 carries, and Nolden finished with 57 yards on five carries and a touchdown.
When asked about the victory, Belleville Head Coach Chase Ritter had this to say, “It’s always nice to get a win on the road, and we did a lot of nice things tonight but we have a lot of mistakes to clean up as we move forward.”
The Wildcats travel to Poynette this Friday, kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m.
