Postal Carriers Collect Food Donations

On May 13th, the Postal Service carriers from Belleville and New Glarus collected 1,500 pounds of food for the local food pantries. On May 20th, Boy Scout Troop 61 collected 256 pounds of food for the Belleville Food Pantry and during the month of May the Belleville Public Library collected 233 pounds of food for the Belleville Food Pantry. Thank you to the area residents for the generous donations and the boy scouts and the mail carriers for all their collection work.
The Belleville Food Pantry is located in the Belleville Village Hall, 24 W. Main Street. It is open to lower-income Belleville School District residents on Tuesdays from 8:00 a.m. until Noon, and on Thursdays from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.
The Belleville Food Pantry serves about 35 families on a weekly basis and another 15 families less frequently. The New Glarus Food Pantry is located in Grace Church, 416 2nd Street, New Glarus. It is open by appointment.
